a little about me…
hey!
my name is Bronagh, a London born and raised 30 year old, with proud Irish roots
I have always knitted, in fact I specialised in it as part of my Textile Design degree at Uni of Leeds with one of my best friends Harriet… once I graduated I quickly found that the fashion industry maybe wasn’t for me, and of course at 21 life and other interests took over and I forgot about the creative part of me
that was until, my dad sadly passed away after a short battle with cancer 2 days before Christmas ‘24. While living with immense grief, I quickly searched for something that could give me a new purpose I had lost all sense of, something that didn’t remind me of my current life and would require my complete focus away from all the noise in my head. This was when my best friend Amelia reminded me of my creativity I had left behind at 21, so with her confidence in me I picked back up my knitting needles and found my new love… crocheting!
my partner, family and friends encouraged me to keep making bags to start selling and to create a website for the convince of word of mouth- along with a means of having a purpose, some fun and a bit of escapism… so here we are! Our name is ‘Goldie’ is after the golden yellow and orange sunsets my dad has shown me in the sky since he passed whenever I have needed him and ‘June’ is the month my dad, me and my twin were all born in, Geminis for life x
my hopes are to be able to cover material costs, website costs, yarn postage charges etc with my pricing so that I can keep doing what I love as a hobby and it can keep my mind busy while living with grief and hopefully make my dad proud as he always wanted me to start something, so this is for him and any support along the way is really appreciated
aaaand…most importantly, I hope you love my designs, work and your new bag
love, B x
